Nigel Farage Accuses Educators of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Race Issues

Nigel Farage has asserted that teachers would go on strike shortly after a Reform UK election victory, charging that they are “harming young minds” by telling children that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

At a gathering for a private US Christian college, the politician expressed his viewpoint on British schools, claiming that the “Marxist left” had “taken over schooling”.

“I’m anticipating a walkout by educators soon after winning the next general election,” Farage commented during a Q&A session.

“They are corrupting young minds. They instruct children to be ashamed of their country. They inform an eight-year-old black child that he is a victim and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is a perpetrator. They are dividing us, instead of fostering unity. They promote this harmful mindset.”

In response to Farage’s claims, the head of a major education union rejected the notion that the schools were under Marxist influence as “absurd”. Kebede noted that industrial action must relate to educators’ working conditions, and doubted whether Reform would attack these right after taking office.

“Farage has built his public life on coded rhetoric and currently, like Trump, he is lining up teachers and their unions for a fight,” Kebede stated.

“This is highly reckless. Neither I nor our union – advocate such divisive theories as he’s suggesting … If he were to lead the government he would sell out our public services, particularly schooling … and the outcome would be catastrophic for students and learning.”

The party, which is leading the polls by about 10 points, has provided limited specifics on a proposed education policy and seems not to have appointed an education spokesperson.

Nonetheless, his comments indicated the group would reform the educational framework. Farage declared: “We have got a massive job with schooling – truly monumental. And, it won’t happen quickly; it will take us years, years to turn this around.”

He stated that younger generations are receptive to critical thinking, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Honoring Charlie Kirk, he commented: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to educate individuals that multiple perspectives exist and you make up your own mind rather than current practices where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in the UK and US.”

The party has conflicted with the UK’s largest teaching union, after Kebede called the party “far right and racist” and dismissed Farage as “a cheap imitation”.

The politician has charged Kebede of being “a self-declared Marxist” … an individual intent that our children should be poisoned through education, their thinking tainted regarding national issues” and maintained that the union is trying to indoctrinate teenagers against Reform.

Roughly a million individuals are employed in education in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The leading teachers’ organization has about 450,000 members.

Countrywide walkouts over educators’ salaries and work environment in recent years led to significant interruptions in schools and millions of days of lost learning for students.

At the US event, the Reform leader also vowed to promote the online educational material of the Christian college in the UK. He stated organizations like it were “key to resistance”, adding that: “I mean this. I will help garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of young people to your online courses. I pledge this now and I will follow through.”

The college, a religious educational establishment, offers free courses. According to its online description: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is necessary for personal happiness and to maintain the benefits of freedom. The college furnishes these beautiful courses for no charge to all who wish to learn.”
