Man That Touched Ariana Grande at Film Launch Barred from Singapore

An Australian man that leaped over a barricade and touched actress Ariana Grande has been expelled and banned from Singapore.

The man, twenty-six, was sentenced to more than a week in prison for causing a public disturbance and has now been "banned from entering the country again," the country's border control informed local media.

He forced his way through camera crews and charged at the celebrity, who was present at the regional launch for Wicked: For Good on November 13. Co-performer Cynthia Erivo intervened to remove him from Grande.

Wen has a history of disrupting concerts and star-studded occasions, including rushing the stage at Katy Perry's Sydney concert in June this year.

The occurrence sparked outrage in Singapore, with many accusing him of causing further distress to the star.

The pop star has spoken of suffering from trauma-related anxiety after a terrorist bombing at her performance in the UK city in May 2017 killed over twenty people and injured hundreds.

In the legal process, the judge was informed he had tried to gain access on the red carpet event multiple times, according to regional reports.

He then made a second attempt to breach security. Event security prevented him and restrained him.

The man subsequently shared videos thanking Grande for permitting his access and said he was "at liberty."

Authorities detained him the subsequent day and accused him with public nuisance, to which Wen pleaded guilty.

The Court Judge the judicial official was quoted by media reports as remarking that Wen was "attention seeking", noting that he was incorrect to think he would not experience repercussions.

Grande has not commented on the case.

Erivo discussed the situation to NBC, saying that she "just wanted to ensure my colleague was protected."

"I'm sure he had no intention to us injury, but you can't predict with these incidents, and I wanted to confirm that she was fine. That was my first instinct," she stated.
